Questions

Frequently asked.

Are your sounds royalty free?

Yes. Sounds of Mexico is made of field recordings and textures, so it is fully royalty free. The same goes for most sound design content: drums, one shots, percussion, textures, ambience, FX, presets and similar non-compositional elements. Use them in commercial releases and keep 100% of your royalties.

What content is not royalty free?

Some products contain melodic or compositional material, such as:

  • melodic loops
  • song starters
  • harmonic ideas
  • vocal compositions
  • signature phrases

If a release leans heavily on recognizable compositional content from a kit and reaches major commercial success or a label placement, clearance and/or royalty participation may apply.

What do you record with?

Many different field recorders. My personal favorite is the Zoom H1n Handy Recorder. It fits in every pocket, so I can capture anything, anytime.

Can I upload my music to Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube?

Yes. All purchased content may be used in commercial music releases and online content creation.

Do I need to credit Flaevrd?

Credit is always appreciated but not required unless specifically agreed.

What counts as a major placement?

  • major label releases
  • placements with established artists
  • film or TV placements
  • advertising campaigns
  • releases generating substantial commercial revenue

Each case is handled individually and professionally.

Can I resell or redistribute the sounds?

No. You may not:

  • resell the original files
  • redistribute the kit
  • upload raw sounds to sample marketplaces
  • create competing sample packs using the original files

Collected. Not Generated.
